As plans evolve for the celebration of the Golden Jubilee of Independence, the Ministry of Education seeks to advise candidates sitting Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations (CAPE) and Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) on May 26, that they will be accommodated at different educational facilities so as to not have any disturbances.Please note the names of the schools that will be accommodated at each examination centre.
Donegal was hit by showers of hail and sleet today as wacky weather struck the county once more.It may be the height of the summer but that didn’t stop freezing sheets of ice from falling from the sky.Donegal Daily readers from Clonmany to Convoy contacted us to say their areas were hit by showers of ice. One reader from Mindoran sent us this picture (right).And she told us “The sky went very dark and suddenly the ground began to be pelted with hailstones.“They were up to about 5 mms in diameter and the shower lasted for about fifteen minutes.“It was mad to see this kind of thing in the middle of July when we should be enjoying some of out best weather,” she said.
