A teenager is now nursing a chop wound at the Linden Hospital Complex which was inflicted by another male during an argument over a female on Tuesday.Injured is 19-year-old Zamaul Bobb of Lot G-40 Canvas City, Wismar, Linden. Based on information received, the now injured man and the suspect were involved in a heated argument over a female but the matter was resolved following the intervention of the victim’s father.However, at about 22:30h on the same day, the suspect confronted Bobb in the vicinity of the Canvas City Nursery School and allegedly inflicted a wound to his forehead with a cutlass after which he made good his escape.Bobb was rushed to the Linden Hospital Complex where he was treated and admitted in a stable condition. The police have since launched a manhunt for the suspect.
Twenty-nine-year-old Twancy Langhorne was on Thursday fined $10,000 by Magistrate Annette Singh when she appeared at the Linden Magistrate’s Court on an assault charge.The woman, who hails from One Mile, Wismar, Linden, pleaded guilty to the charge which stated that on Monday July 8, 2019 at One Mile, Wismar, she unlawfully assaulted Tomeka Fausett.The presiding Magistrate ordered Langhorne to pay the fine or face an alternative sentence of one month in prison for the offence.In another matter, a 21-year-old Steffon Deane was ordered to pay a fine of $7,500 by Magistrate Annette Singh on a similar matter.Deane admitted that on Saturday July 13, 2019 he unlawfully assaulted Nivita Adams at Third Alley, Wismar, Linden. Failure to pay the fine will result in Deane spending one week in prison.
